What Is Coaching
First, let’s talk about what Coaching is. The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”
Coaches specialize in behavior change. We support our clients in finding their own strategies and motivation for change, overcoming obstacles, and in the health coaching arena, implementing protocols that have either been prescribed by a clinician or nutritionist/dietitian or that the client has chosen to implement on their own.

Do You Tell Me What To Do?
Here’s what Coaching is not.
Coaches don’t operate on the “expert model” that’s so common in our world. I will not tell you what to do, lecture, or simply dispense advice. Instead, you and I work together (accountability partners) to empower you to make the choice for yourself.
My role is centered on supporting your efforts to grow and change. My main focus is to help
you reach your self-developed goals.
Why do I need a coach?
The road of life isn’t a straight one, sometimes we need a little help navigating. That’s why I’m here.

Or just trying to figure something out and you need someone to help you work through it. Coaches support you in finding the confidence in YOU to help you get through these decisions by digging deep into your ‘why.’
Just as a sports coach can help an athlete develop and excel at a sport, a Coach can help anyone excel at living their life, even — or especially — if they have chronic medical conditions. The coaching process is similar to talk therapy in that it involves two people discussing ideas and issues, but it is different in that the person who is being coached is in the driver’s seat, creating their goals as well as the strategies on how to arrive at these goals.
